Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Great experience! Ed was able to fix my Audi tail light, which appeared to work at first glance but actually needed to be replaced. Honest, good work.

Fantastic experience working with Ed to repair an electrical issue with my Audi. Great creative problem solving and timely, transparent communication. He was able to fix the issue for less than half of the estimate from the dealership and other shops. Highly recommend and will be the first call i make with issues in the future.

Edβs Autohaus is hands down the best shop Iβve ever been to. Ed has done all the work on my Porsches, and I wouldnβt trust anyone else. Heβs the most straightforward, honest mechanic Iβve metβno upselling, no nonsense, just top-quality work at fair prices. Whether itβs routine maintenance or a major repair, you can expect excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. If youβre looking for a shop that knows German cars inside and out and treats customers right, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I wanted to take a moment to share with you the exceptional experience I had at Ed's Autohaus while having my 1999 Mercedes Benz E300 TD serviced. Not only did they do a phenomenal job on my car, but they also demonstrated a seriousness and commitment to providing the highest quality service possible. They carefully assessed the necessary repairs and maintenance for my vehicle and took the time to explain everything in detail. Their transparency and honesty throughout the process were truly commendable. In addition to their professionalism, I was also pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing at Ed's Autohaus. It is clear that they value their customers and prioritize providing top-notch service at a fair and competitive price. I cannot recommend Ed's Autohaus highly enough for anyone in need of auto repairs or maintenance. Their dedication to excellence, combined with their integrity and affordability, sets them apart from other auto shops in the area. You can expect excellent work, a fair price, and decades of experience with Edβs. I have an aging XJ8 Jag, deal with shops daily, and still couldnβt find a shop with the balls to help (the average mechanic seems intimidated by a π it seems) - the exception being βauthorized jag shop,β or the dealershipπ°π°π° (which IS NOT happenin.β) I finally found/met Ed. He took care of my car quickly, professionally, and my v8 is floating down the highway:). Suspension and transmission service were my first order of business. Iβll be back! And highly recommend this team.
